Bearcat NewsfeedBasketball UpdateOur HS basketball season begins next Tuesday, November 24 with home games vs Schuyler Co. We will be begin the high school season by issuing tickets for home games to limit the number of spectators for social distancing purposes. Each player & cheerleader will be given 5 tickets to distribute to family members. If 5 are not needed, please only take what is needed.
In order to allow 5 family members to attend, we will be emptying the gym between girls JV/V games & boys JV/V games. Family members of girls players will only be able to attend the girls games- they will have pink tickets. Family members of boys players will only be able to attend the boys games- they will have blue tickets. Family members of cheerleaders will be allowed to attend either the girls games or the boys games which will be determined prior to Tuesday. On Tuesday, the order of games starting at 5:00 will be 2 quarters JVG, varsity girls, gym emptied, 2 quarters of JVB & varsity boys game. Doors will open for all girls game spectators with pink tickets at 4:30. Spectators attending the boys games on Tuesday are to wait to arrive between 6:30-7:00 & are to enter through the east doors by our business/FACS classrooms. Spectators for the boys games will wait in the cafeteria & old gym areas until the conclusion of the girls games & the HS gym has been cleared & sanitized. They will then walk down the hallway to the HS gym. The JV boys games should begin approx. 7:00/7:15. There will likely be a very small number of extra tickets available for students & possibly patrons with no family members playing for future games. Due to no school on Monday & Tuesday, there will be no extra tickets available for the Schuyler Co. games. We ask that family members sit together during games. All games will continue to be streamed on YouTube & the link will be sent on Textcaster right before the games begin. We wish we were able to allow as many spectators as possible in the building to view games in person. We must remember that the most important thing is that our students have the opportunity to play their season. We will continue to make adjustments as needed throughout the season. Tickets for the Schuyler Co games will be distributed at the Black & Gold Scrimmage on Friday night. Northeast R-IV COVID-19 Response Plan |
